What is Eastern Medicine?
Energy can be compared to the blood that flows through our body. Without blood, the human body cannot live ,and without energy the physical body cannot exist. Your life and health depends on blood and energy. When blood and/or energy cannot flow freely throughout the body it develops dis-ease known as disease. When this process occur, the body's natural defenses begin to break down. You become stagnant or stuck in that diseased state.
Here are some of the symptoms you may experience on a body, mind, or spirit level when the energy becomes stuck or unable to move freely.
.......Your physical body begins to feel tired, hot or feverish, cold or chills, pain or stiff etc...
.......Your mental state may become clogged, confused, unable to sleep or restless, etc...
.......Your spirit may begin to feel frustrated, anger, hopeless or a sense of emptiness: your emotions may become very low or very high(anxiety) etc...
Acupuncture is an alternative healing modality that utilizes fine thin hair like needles to access Meridians to carry energy to every part of your body. When energy becomes stuck, acupuncture release or redistribute the energy in order to bring balance and harmony to the whole person.
Meridians are the pathways that affect every organ and every physiological system - the Lymphatic, Muscular, Nervous, Endocrine, Immune, Circulatory, Respiratory, Digestive and Skeletal Systems.
Do the fine thin needles hurt?
No and/or Yes! Each individual experience is different.
With my experience, I sometimes felt a sensation of a prick and energy movement upon insertion of the needle. Some people do not feel anything. Others described it as a quickly passing throb/ache upon insertion that often leads to deep relaxation throughout the treatment. You may or may not feel these sensations. Your experience will be different.
